Five unemployed women with disabilities will be trained for ready-made jobs, and after receiving the certificate, three of them will be employed for a period of one year, it was announced at the press conference on the beginning of the project "Training and Employment of women with disabilities in the Protection Workshop".

Today, in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, a cooperation Agreement was signed on the project between the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development and the Association of Paraplegics Bijelo Polje and Mojkovac, whose goal is to improve entrepreneurial infrastructure and strengthen entrepreneurial knowledge and skills through employment of vulnerable groups - women with disabilities.

"This project will contribute to the improvement of the position of persons with disabilities, ie equality of persons with disabilities on the labor market, through the effective implementation of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination and the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities." Based on the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, during the training, selected participants will receive a monthly monetary compensation of 15% of the average gross salary in Montenegro in the amount of 127.90 USD "- said Samedin Agović from the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Bijelo Polje.

Armin Čekić, project manager of the United Nations Office for Project Services, pointed out that the call "Support of the Kingdom of Norway to the development of the Western Balkans - Norway for you - Montenegro" seeks to bring the business sector and local governments closer together.

"So here we have a combination of that, the relevant institution, the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, which helps the development of economic activities at the municipal level and also encourages employment, and on the other hand we have a relevant partner, the Association of Paraplegics, which guarantees that the project will achieve desired results. We will monitor the implementation of the activities themselves, but more from the aspect of support, than the classic monitoring, so that we will be available to the project team and project beneficiaries" said Čekić.

On behalf of the Association of Paraplegics Bijelo Polje and Mojkovac, Milka Stojanović thanked the Government of Norway, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development and said that thanks to this project the sustainability of the Protection Workshop, managed by her Association, will be ensured.

"Since there is no rulebook on financing special organizations for the employment of people with disabilities, this project will enable us sustainability. Also, these funds mean a lot to us in terms of increasing the personnel capacities of persons with disabilities, because women with disabilities are doubly discriminated against in relation to other persons with disabilities" Stojanović pointed out.

The Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje received funds through a grant from the project "Support of the Kingdom of Norway to the Development of the Western Balkans - Norway for You - Montenegro".
